Private Hydrotherapy Pool in Kent at Blue Bell Hill
Looking for a hydrotherapy pool near you in Kent? Bluebell has its own purpose-built pool at Warren Road, Blue Bell Hill, Chatham ME5 9RD, heated to around 34°C and chest-deep, with free parking. Sessions are private and one-to-one: a chartered physiotherapist uses the water as a supported setting for movement, with the session planned around your assessment, health and practical goals.

How the Water Changes Rehabilitation
Warmth, buoyancy and water resistance change how movement feels and is loaded. That can make the pool a useful setting for some people, while others need land-based work from the start.
Buoyancy Changes Joint Loading
Chest-deep water can make some movements more manageable when normal weight-bearing is difficult.
Warm-Water Setting
The pool is heated to around 34°C, providing a different environment for carefully paced movement.
Physio-Led, Not a Class
One-to-one sessions with a chartered physiotherapist — this is treatment, not a swimming lesson.
Linked to Your Wider Plan
Pool work can be combined with land rehabilitation when both settings serve a clear purpose.

Hydrotherapy FAQs
Do I need to be able to swim?
No — sessions run in chest-deep water and the physio is in the pool with you at all times. Non-swimmers are very welcome.
How warm is the water?
Our pool is heated to around 34°C — noticeably warmer than a public pool. It's part of what makes hydrotherapy so effective for painful joints.
How long is a session?
Typically 45 minutes in the water plus a short land-based review. The first session includes a full assessment.
Is this a public hydrotherapy pool I can use on my own?
No. The pool is used for physiotherapist-led, one-to-one sessions after an assessment, not for public swimming or unsupervised use.
Where is your hydrotherapy pool?
At the Bluebell clinic on Warren Road, Blue Bell Hill, Chatham ME5 9RD, with free on-site parking. Appointments run Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm.
Is hydrotherapy suitable if I have a wound or infection?
Tell your physiotherapist before entering the water. Open wounds, infections and some medical conditions mean the pool may need to wait, and your GP may need to advise first.
Is it covered by insurance?
Yes — hydrotherapy delivered by a chartered physio is recognised by all major UK insurers as part of a treatment plan.
How soon after surgery can I start?
Once your wound is fully healed and your surgeon has cleared you — usually 4–6 weeks post-op. We liaise with your consultant if needed.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your condition, current function and goals. We give an estimate after assessment and review it against your response.
Can I bring a family member?
Yes — carers and family are welcome poolside. For confidence-building and post-stroke work we actively encourage it.
Is parking free?
Yes — free on-site parking, changing rooms and towels provided.
